What better mix could possibly exist? Florence Welch and Calvin Harris “Sweet Nothing” tops all. This song has fashion, music and sex written all over it.
Sweet nothing. Male or female, we’ve all been in that place. It’s like that feeling when you want something so bad, yet no matter what you do, what you put out there it just seems so unattainable. Mostly in part because it’s not meant to be. When it comes to love it is extremely apparent. There’s only so much you can put on the table and get nothing in return. With no questions answered, nothing palpable to hold on to in return — you’re getting sweet nothings. The things that keep you around but unsatisfied, unhappy and sometimes feeling half-empty. It’s crazy when you look back on things and realize that sweet nothings meant something at that time. But it isn’t just in love, if I think for one second about all the sweet nothings I have waited on throughout my life, they also exist among friends (not real ones obviously), your relationships with people, your expectations of others. Yet, there are so many things in your life, or at least in mine that I can say are the little sweet every-things. The things that keep you feeling fulfilled, keep your purpose and hope alive. This song is awesome, everything about it— the artist, the composer, the beat, the video, her outfit, his life, their life, the situation, the experience and the lesson.
What are sweet nothings to you?
Fall Fashion Takeout
You’ll notice in the beginning of the song, Florence’s nails are gold. Interestingly enough I just so happened to do a post a week or so ago about fall nail hues, my favorite being a new platinum gold color I came across by Essie. To get the same look click here.
Calvin Harris and Florence Welch “Sweet Nothing” Lyrics
You took my heart and you held it in your mouth
And, with a word all my love came rushing out
And, every whisper, it’s the worst, emptied out by a single word
There is a hollow in me now
So I put my faith in something unknown
I’m living on such sweet nothing
But I’m trying to hope with nothing to hold
I’m living on such sweet nothing
And it’s hard to learn
And it’s hard to love
When you’re giving me such sweet nothing
Sweet nothing, sweet nothing
You’re giving me such sweet nothing
[Beat break]
It isn’t easy for me to let it go
Cause
I’ve swallow every single word
And
Every whisper, every sigh
Eats away at this heart of mine
And there is a hollow in me now
So I put my faith in something unknown
I’m living on such sweet nothing
But I’m trying to hope with nothing to hold
I’m living on such sweet nothing
And it’s hard to learn
And it’s hard to love
When you’re giving me such sweet nothing
Sweet nothing, sweet nothing
You’re giving me such sweet nothing
[Beat break]
And it’s not enough
To tell me that you care
When, we both know the words are empty air
You give me nothing
Uoooh
Uoooh
Uoooh
Nothing
[Beat break]
Uoooh
Uoooh
Uoooh
